Job Title: Project Manager- AWS Cloud Data Migration #LI-JN1
Type of Engagement: 8 - month contract (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Fully Remote
Candidate must be able to work in the Eastern or Central Standard Time zone.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of a four year degree in business, computer science, or healthcare related field or the equivalent experience
- 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years managing migrations or other large-scale data-centric initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing, mitigating, and adapting to risk throughout the project lifecycle
- Demonstrated success leading technical projects with remote project teams
- Experience in delivering projects across multiple SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc)
- Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem, including an understanding of S3, Glue and Redshift, particularly in the context of usage in a data processing/analytics environment
- Ability to accurately capture status updates from team members, as well as comprehending the interconnections between tasks and dependencies
- Capable of adopting a macro and micro perspective on project deliverables, effectively identifying and escalating potential project execution risks to senior leadership
- Ability to build and manage relationships across the enterprise
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization
- Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus building skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a contract Data Migration Project Manager to guide our migration to Amazon Web Services. As the Data Migration Project Manager, you will be responsible for guiding and overseeing multiple workstreams including infrastructure & security, data ingestion, ETL, analytics & data visualization, and data migration.
In this role, you will be taking on a project that is currently in the process of transitioning from agile delivery to a more plan-driven, waterfall approach. Familiarity with both approaches will be beneficial as you guide the team through the implementation. In addition, note that the team is fully virtual – candidates should have experience and insights into successfully guiding virtual teams through complex initiatives.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage the project plan – including a detailed project schedule – to drive the work of the team
- Facilitate regular status check-ins and other project meetings to ensure the team stays on track
- Work with data and technology leads to ensure that the project plan reflects the comprehensive solution being delivered, and that dependencies are identified and tracked
- Monitor the team’s progress against the plan, addressing and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Capture, assess, and manage risks and issues to minimize adverse disruptions to project delivery
- Govern and participate the project change management process
- Work with the testing team to ensure adequate test coverage
- Bring formal and informal leadership skills to teams as appropriate to the situation
- Track, manage, and resolve dependencies across workstreams
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders throughout the enterprise regarding project progress and status
