Job Title: Project Manager
Type of Engagement: 4-month contract (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Located in Cary, NC

Candidate must reside in the Cary, NC area.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 5 years of Dedicated Software project management experience in medium sized projects ($1MM to $10MM), ideally leading at least one software recovery project.
  • Highly proficient in use of MS Project and other planning tools
  • Ability to be able to coach and lead the software team ensuring best practice is adhered to in a challenging software environment.
  • Detailed understanding of Agile and Waterfall Software development techniques for small to medium sized projects.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a complex changing software development environment
  • Proficient skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient in use of MS SharePoint
  • Must be competent in the Atlassian Jira and confluence
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills for reports and presentations
  • Ability to build good relationships with key stakeholders

  • PMP certification 

Job Overview:

The Contract Project Manager will design, develop, maintain and execute software project plans for the software development teams enabling the customer-facing teams to take confidence that the solutions are being correctly managed with a full understanding of the risk profile.  This position will work closely with the Solutions teams and client-facing Project Director ensuring the project has suitable controls in place and fulfills its objective within the desired timeframe, cost profile and quality objectives.

This role will manage and support several concurrent projects balancing individual project needs against Program objectives.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Work with program leaders to develop project and program plans
  • Maintain plans in MS Project and other formats as necessary
  • Provide input into designing and implementing suitable project controls and governance
  • Agree and maintain with client Facing Project Director, an external-facing view of all project plans
  • Create internal & external progress reports against plans
  • Create and respond to Impact Assessments
  • Define and agree project approach with VP Solution delivery & Solutions PMO.
  • Define and provide Knowledge Articles and Knowledge Transfer to support teams to ensure successful support following each project completion.
  • Some travel will be required

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $63.00 - $68.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
