Job Title: Sr. MySQL Database Administrator with clustering
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid position in Cary, NC area

Candidate must reside in the Cary, NC area.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a (Percona) MySQL Database Administrator with 5 years+ of experience in Multisite Clustering.
Strong knowledge of MySQL database architecture, replication, and clustering technologies.
Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
Must have experience 3+ years of experience with Percona Server for MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Percona XtraBackup hot backup
Additional distributions such as Maria DB or MySQL Enterprise with Galera Cluster or MySQL NDB Cluster desirable.
Experience with other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Orchestrator, ProxySQL, and HAProxy.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
Understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in backup and recovery processes and tools.
Familiarity with database security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Relevant certifications centric in Percona clustering solutions

Big Bonus Points if you Have:

Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, In FluxDB experience are a plus.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior MySQL Database Administrator with demonstrated expertise in Multisite Clustering to join our dynamic Global Support team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, managing, maintaining, and optimizing our MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
This role requires a deep understanding of MySQL clustering, replication, backup, and recovery processes. Position reports to VP of Global Support and IT.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and clustering solutions.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes.
Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Percona Server for MySQL databases using Percona XtraDB Clustering
Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
Close collaboration with development teams to design, implement database schemas and queries as well as application profiling for optimized DB tuning
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide technical support.
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Stay up-to-date with the latest MySQL features, best practices, and industry trends
Database distribution biased toward internal Development and QE on premise and in the cloud but expect some customer interaction with support consultations and customer engagements.

Job Requisition # 38851

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $160,000 - $175,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
