Job Description
Manage the IT enterprise architecture by assessing and structuring the direction of technology in terms of its processes and capabilities to meet system requirements. This position is responsible for assisting with overseeing the development and implementation of IT architectural applications; conduct business reviews and assesses current applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSÂ #LI-LB1
• Collaborate with domain experts, engineers, and leaders to document current state architecture, develop domain capability models, heatmaps, maturity assessments, health assessments, and maturity assessments, and technical roadmaps
• Support the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging roadmaps, capability heatmaps, etc to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and improvement opportunities.
• Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
• Evaluate and select from existing and emerging technologies to best fit enterprise business needs
• Determine physical system design and asses existing technology and standards to fit within information standards and logical systems design
• Design and construct future- and current-state business models so as to practically apply new and emerging technologies to drive them
• Analyze technology industry and market trends and determines potential impact upon the enterprise
• Build a trusted advisor relationship with business leaders to provide coaching and guidance on system architectural and design solution options based on understanding of industry trends and customer expectations
• Serve as an integral member of the team that helps develop a consolidated business and technology roadmap to help ensure that resources, interdependencies and business priorities are effectively aligned
• Translate complex topics, concepts and business opportunities into possible system architectural and design solution options that will help Mecklenburg County take advantage of market opportunities or overcome business challenges
• Create and implement a standard set of EA work products including business capability models, logical architecture models, and physical architecture models that enable the organization to achieve the value identified with high quality; and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Determine overall modeling standards, guidelines, best practices and approved modeling techniques and approaches
• Lead and participate in due diligence of new software purchases by reviewing all proposed data models contained in packaged or commercially available applications, serve on data integration, business intelligence and content management
• Work with business users to identify and document the key facts and dimensions necessary to support the business requirements, develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical models, as well as metadata repository; identify the appropriate data sources with the assistance of the business analysts and conduct thorough data quality assessments on source data
• Prepare prototype models to support development efforts; and describe data entities and relationships, master data, metadata, data quality, data cleansing, and data governance
• Develop entity and attribute descriptions and definitions for the models
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:Â Â Minimum of six years of progressively responsible programming or design experience
Education:Â Â Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

Licenses and Certifications
CCNA/P Data Center Certification a plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and business partners.
• Broad technical knowledge of the data center and its components: Applications, Storage, Network, Server, and projects surrounding their planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization
• Architectural knowledge of virtualization tools and concepts
• Current experience in SD-WAN design and engineering principles
• Understanding of basic components of ACI fabric (ex: Tenant, BD, VRF, APIC), Nexus DC technologies such as vPC, FabricPath, OTV, VXLAN,
• Understanding of ACI implementationsÂ
• Networking Familiarity with some of the following: Layer 2 (Spanning tree, vPC, EtherChannel, VLAN, etc), Layer 3 switching /routing (OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, IPv4/6), DNS/DHCP WAN/ISP, network virtualization (N1kv, VRF), basics of higher layer protocols: SSL/TLS, HTTP, real-time traffic (voice/video), NFS, database access protocols
• Network/Infrastructure Security technologies (Firewall, access control, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, administrative access control) and Compliance (PCI, SOx, HIPAA)
• Practical knowledge of Agile project management and software development methodologies such as Scrum and SAF
