Job Title: Engineer IV
Type of Engagement: 36-month contract (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Hybrid position located in Charlotte, NC  (Some travel may be required)

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.
  • Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.
  • Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.
  • Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
  • They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's in Engineering and a PE is required.
  • 10-15 years discipline experience and a unique SME skill
  • Familiarity with testing and commissioning of protective circuits using Omicron and Doble test sets
  • Analyses and reporting of fault responses and breaker operations
  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment failures to determine root-cause and necessary resolution actions
  • Familiarity with microprocessor-based relaying
  • Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic
  • Experience with relay settings calculations for protective relays associated with Inverter Based Resources
  • Interpret and develop relay logic with microprocessor-based relays

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics. Diagrams and schematics associated with DER site equipment are a plus. (relays, inverters, UPS systems, etc.)

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $63.00 - $68.80 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
