Our client is actively seeking a talented Engineering Manager (Gas Design) located in Fort Worth, TX area. This position has a hybrid/remote schedule with occasional onsite as needed - Candidates MUST reside in Texas. This is a fulltime permanent opportunity with our client.
Job Overview:
Our client is looking for a motivated individual to help the company grow its service lines into natural gas design. This role will be responsible for developing the gas design program, finding, vetting, and hiring gas design staff, and building rapport with natural gas utilities to secure new project work. This role will also be responsible for the on-going growth and development of design practices, data management, QA/QC, and personnel management. This role will require occasional travel between offices.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $110,000 - $160,000 per year.
The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of designers and drafters in the execution of natural gas design projects
- Create and implement a training program to develop the design team and on-board new design employees
- Create and maintain a quality assurance/quality control program to deliver industry leading design products
- Participate in periodic strategic planning initiatives to help steer the future of our client’s gas design services
- Conduct client development initiatives to secure new work and service lines
- Oversee the management of gas design projects from end-to-end
- Document, report and forecast the performance of our client’s gas design service line
- Closely coordinate with engineers and managers in other service lines to leverage the company’s capabilities
- Foster a strong team environment that embodies our client’s philosophy of “Employees First”
- Occasional travel may be required to support design services. Travel includes air travel out of state.
- Coordinate contract bid responses, project proposals, and project schedule development
- Project management responsibilities for projects in the gas design service line
- Hire design and project management team members to support the growth of the gas design service line
- A wide range of creativity and latitude is expected
- Licensed P.E. Required
- 8+ years of gas design experience
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform all of the essential functions of this position.
- Scheduling experience (MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent)
- Strong communications skills
- Client development skills
- Strong document and project control habits
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (project experience can substitute for degree)
- Prior management experience desirable
- AutoCAD/Civil3D/Plant3D experience highly desirable
- Contract development experience desirable
