Work Location: Hybrid Position in Lakewood, CO (1 day/week in office)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated individual with intermediate-to-advanced natural gas pipeline design skills. This role will be responsible for developing natural gas pipeline CAD designs at the direction of the design manager, developing design standards and templates, executing the QA/QC program, and training new underground designers and drafters. This role will report to the design manager.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and implement client and industry standards
- Deep understanding of gas pipeline material design, permitting requirements, & calculations
- Understanding of Plan and Profile design using alignments, topographic surfaces, and pipe networks.
- Ability to interpret construction documents to compile relevant information for distribution designs.
- Coordinate field meetings with Client and Construction representatives.
- Demonstrate the ability to be self-sufficient and proactive
- Maintain IT equipment for self
- Perform work with high quality and within budget. Maintain backlog to remain billable.
- Train and mentor junior designers and drafters.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of the quality assurance/quality control program to deliver industry-leading design products
- Understand & implement Client & industry best practice design methods
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of a training program to develop the design team and on-board new design employees
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
- Support continuous improvement in process and cost-efficiency.
- Closely coordinate with engineers and managers in other service lines to provide cross-functional support
Required Skills & Experience:
- Occasional travel may be required to support design services. Travel may include air travel out of state.

- Required Job Qualifications
- 4+ years of natural gas pipeline experience for public utilities
- 4+ years Civil 3D experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform all the essential functions of this position.
Big Bonus Points if you Have:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution (project experience can substitute for degree)

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
