Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a hands-on, manager-level IT leader to run day-to-day IT for a manufacturing organization and lead critical business systems initiatives especially an upcoming ERP upgrade and/or migration. This person will partner closely with Finance/Accounting and Operations, manage key vendors/MSPs, and ensure stable, secure technology operations while modernizing core platforms.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $120,000 - $145,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.

This person will partner closely with Finance/Accounting and Operations, manage key vendors/MSPs, and ensure stable, secure technology operations while modernizing core platforms.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
ERP UPGRADE / MIGRATION (PRIMARY)
- Lead ERP assessment, requirements gathering, and process mapping with Finance/Accounting and Operations.
- Support ERP vendor/partner evaluation and selection; help define scope, phased rollout approach, and success criteria.
- Oversee implementation execution: project plan, risks/issues, testing/UAT, data migration, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.
- Coordinate integrations with adjacent systems (reporting/BI, CRM, WMS/MES/QMS, EDI, shipping/labeling, etc. as applicable).
- Drive adoption: documentation, training coordination, change impacts, and post-go-live continuous improvement.
IT OPERATIONS & VENDOR MANAGEMENT
- Own day-to-day IT service delivery and escalation (internal resources and/or MSP).
- Manage IT vendors (MSP, network/telecom, cybersecurity tools, ERP implementation partner, software providers).
- Establish practical SLAs/expectations, ticket triage, and reporting; ensure issues are resolved and root causes addressed.
- Maintain core IT controls: access management, onboarding/offboarding, backups, endpoint standards, and security awareness support.
BUSINESS SYSTEMS, DATA, AND REPORTING
- Improve application portfolio health (licensing, renewals, upgrades, standardization, documentation).
- Support reliable reporting and data quality needed for manufacturing and financial decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6–10+ years in IT with 2+ years owning/leading IT operations in a small-to-mid sized environment.
- Proven delivery of at least one ERP upgrade or migration (requirements through go-live).
- Manufacturing / industrial / distribution experience strongly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder communication with non-technical leaders; pragmatic, service-oriented leadership style.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean environment.
- Experience standardizing IT processes while leveraging outsourced partners effectively.

- Shop-floor / operations-adjacent systems exposure (WMS, MES, QMS, barcoding/scanners, labeling, EDI, shipping systems).
