Job Title: Labor/Union Relations Representative
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid position in Tempe, AZ (3 Days Remote/2 Days In-Office)

Candidates must reside in the Greater Tempe, AZ area.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
  • 3+ years Employee and Labor Relations experience in regulated industries.
  • Must have examples of your experience in successfully navigating union negotiations and resolving labor disputes with a unionized environment. 
  • Experience creating presentations (PowerPoint) and presenting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Understanding and working knowledge of employment law
  • Negotiating skills

Job Overview:

Acts as the Human Resource liaison for all client employees. Provides counsel and interpretation on key federal, state and local laws. Assists in formulating, interpreting and administering client policies and guidelines. Participates in Union negotiation, Contract administration, Contract training, and preparation for grievances and arbitration. 


Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Advises management and employees on the interpretation and application of company policies, guidelines, procedures, union contracts, and federal, state, and local laws. 
  • Conducts investigations related to conduct, performance, and/or attendance reliability violations and/or alleged job discrimination, harassment, internal and external equity complaints, etc. Provides recommendations for positive discipline as appropriate. 
  • Participates as a management representative in the grievance/arbitration procedure, union contract discussion and union contract negotiations.
  • Prepares, counsels, and administers all separations of service.
  • Partners with other HR departments in order to assist in resolving management and/or employee concerns.
  • Maintains effective relationships with client leadership, employees and Union representatives to assist in problem resolution. Consults on strategic workforce initiatives. 
  • Provides training to client leadership and employees on HR policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Drafts responses to external charges or inquires for legal review (EEOC/OFCCP).
  • Recommends and assists in the development of HR policies, guidelines and procedures relating to the employee

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $74,500 - $93,500 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
