Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Buyer IT: Hardware & Telecom
Type of Engagement: This is an ongoing contract with the possibility to go permanent with our client. (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Hybrid position located in Wilmington, DE (3 days/week onsite)

Candidates must reside in the Greater Wilmington, DEarea.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor degree and at least 7 years of experience in procurement, retail, catalog, finance and/or banking experience OR High School/GED and at least 10 years of experience in procurement, retail, catalog, finance and/or banking experience
  • Experience in business through procurement lifecycles and best procurement practices.
  • Experience leading negotiations and developing/executing on procurement strategies.
  • Experience influencing internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Strong background in IT procurement and vendor negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing people, projects and/or cross functional teams.
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of IT Purchasing, specifically Hardware and Telecom
  • cross-functional team experience and support
  • Experience managing change across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • High integrity, ethics, and attention to detail.

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • At least 5 years of experience in negotiating deals.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

Job Overview:

Seeking an experienced Buyer to support and execute sourcing IT category strategies that support hardware, Telecom and Services. This role will drive cost efficiencies, enhance vendor relationships, and lead cross-functional teams to optimize procurement processes. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence three days per week and offers a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.

Professional with significant knowledge within own discipline and knowledge of related disciplines, completing specialized and/or moderately complex tasks under moderate supervision. May supervise employees on specific work projects and/or program needs, focused on task performance and delivery of specialized processes.
  • Requires conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and developing knowledge of related job disciplines.

  • Has the ability to understand and influence.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage category spend analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess business requirements and risks.
  • Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Lead contract negotiations and vendor management initiatives.
  • Drive change management and process improvements across procurement functions.
  • Work closely with leadership to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Support the implementation of enterprise-wide procurement tools and automation.
  • Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $50.00 - $55.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
