Job Title: PE Engineering Manager (S.U.E.)
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid Position located in Dallas, Houston or Austin, TX

Candidates must reside in the Greater Dallas, Houston or Austin, TX area.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equal
  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas 
  • TxDOT Pre-Certification in 18.2.1 Subsurface Utility Engineering or the ability to acquire precertification quickly is required.
  • 3-5 years’ professional engineering experience required.
  • Experience with S.U.E. (Subsurface Utility Engineering) and TxDOT-related projects Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Familiar with design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation ORD is preferred.
  • The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required.
  • The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
  • Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives.
  • The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands from Project Managers is required.
Job Overview:
As Growth and Operations manager, you will be responsible for implementing growth initiatives, collaborating within the geomatics business unit, driving growth and optimizing standard procedures to increase efficiency throughout the state of Texas with all offices and personnel. Conduct market research, identify new business opportunities, build relationships with potential clients, analyze market trends, competitors, and customer preferences to make informed decisions and optimize business development efforts.

In addition to the growth and Operations duties, you will also be involved in Project/Program management and oversight for Texas SUE and TxDOT SUE projects, procurement of TxDOT contracts, utility coordination and conflict resolution.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Generate new clients and markets
  • Expand the revenue and profitability in each office
  • Collaborate with marketing and managers to determine a plan for improvement
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients and employees and ensures ongoing satisfaction of the organization
  • Asses current processes and procedures for project/program management
  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting
  • Prepares proposals, reports, or presentations demonstrating the potential value of new business opportunities
  • Provides QA/QC procedures and evaluates deliverables for completeness and accuracy
  • Supports proposal development and technical writing
  • Works with the project team to create an action plan for the development and project completion of assigned Sub-Surface Utility Engineering projects, ensuring projects remain within a specified budget and schedule
  • Interacts and works directly with field and office staff
  • Research experience with as-built record drawings from utilities as required for use in project designs preferred
  • Balances multiple tasks on multiple projects
  • Collaborates with the Project Managers to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Coordinates with other SUE departments when necessary
  • Participates in site visits, agency meetings, and municipal meetings as needed.
  • Increase collaboration between local offices and business units

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $165,000 - $185,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
