Job Title: Prefab Process Engineer
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Onsite position located in Libertyville, IL.

Candidates must reside in the Greater Libertyville, IL area.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a manufacturing, prefabrication, or production  role, with a focus on process optimization and lean methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, shop layout optimization, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Experience with VDC, Agile WBS, or similar project management tools.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • Familiarity with electrical or construction-related manufacturing and fabrication processes.


Job Overview:

Seeking a Prefabrication Process Engineer who will be responsible for optimizing all aspects of the prefabrication process, ensuring maximum efficiency, reduced waste, and alignment with business priorities. This role will focus on shop layout, process efficiency, just-in-time material handling, and overall production cost management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, lean principles, and project management, with an emphasis on reducing lead times and improving productivity.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Design and implement optimal shop layouts to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency in prefabrication operations.
  • Continuously monitor and assess the prefabrication process for opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production capacity.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and ensure their alignment with business priorities, including minimizing downtime, improving process flow, and reducing costs.
  • Work with production and project teams to set and manage timelines, ensuring timely delivery of prefabricated products.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and project teams to ensure just-in-time material availability and accurate inventory management.
  • Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for prefabrication processes and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Provide regular reports on process improvements, cost reductions, and productivity gains to senior management.
  • Facilitate training and mentoring of team members to promote a culture of continuous improvement.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $160,000 - $165,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
