Job Title: Product Manager - Transportation
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid Position located in Cary, NC (4 days onsite/1 day remote) with up to 20% travel.

Candidates must reside in the Greater Cary, NC area.

Required Skills & Experience:
 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (product management, consulting, market research, innovation).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/related field (or equivalent related work experience).
  • Experience in conducting market research (market trends, customer segmentation, competitive landscape, etc.).
  • Experience in building business cases to justify investment in new growth opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • MBA
  • Rail experience/ exposure (preferably developed software solutions to parties in the North American railroad ecosystem)
  • Experience/ exposure to other modes beyond rail: trucking, ocean (preferable developed software solutions or services).
  • Experience with Design Thinking tools and methodologies.
  • SAAS product management experience


Job Overview:

This role will be leading a new innovation initiative. Through extensive research this team will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities  and making recommendations on areas to invest in. Once an opportunity is identified, the team will be responsible for launching the new product or service. This person will also be responsible for recruiting the initial team.


Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with the client's long-term goals, values, and mission.
  • Through extensive market research, build and manage a robust innovation pipeline, and eventually oversee the development of new products, services, or processes through various stages from concept to launch.
  • Actively monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and customers need to identify potential opportunities for innovation and disruption.
  • Manage members of the innovation team.

Job Requisition #39326

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $110,000 - $160,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
