Job Title: Project Manager II
Type of Engagement: 3-year contract (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Hybrid in Raleigh, NC  (Schedule: 4-10's M-Th)

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for completing all the integration activities to ensure "operational readiness" for solar and battery storage new plant construction for Carolina’s region. Plant Integration includes the activities from conceptual planning all the way through turning over a completely functional and operable asset to an existing operations entity. The integration site lead will interact with multiple stakeholders including (PMC, Supply, EHS, RRD and ESD) and ensure that the project operational readiness goals are achieved when the facility is ready to transition to RRE from the PMC project team.

Plant Integration Team Site Lead (PIT Site Lead) – This position provides the conduit between construction, commissioning, and the operating plant entity receiving the subject new project for any Regulated and Renewable Energy (RRE) new build activity, major project, major plant modification, or other activity where the Plant Integration Team is engaged. This role is responsible to RRE for managing the efforts to ensure a seamless transition from the design, construction, and commissioning of new plants and/or equipment, through commercial acceptance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • The Integration site lead will report to the Director of Plant Integration. This site lead role represents operations' point of view throughout the detailed final design process, interfaces with construction and commissioning during the respective project phases and keeps operations/station management engaged throughout the project activities. This position acts as the primary operations representative on issues regarding project integration involving new plant equipment and or systems.
  • The Plant Integration lead is the primary interface with the Project team. The PIT lead will participate in periodic site visits and site walkdowns with PMC Quality assurance personnel during the project to verify project quality.
  • The Plant Integration lead will coordinate with PMC, EPC, and RRE to verify and to witness equipment clean close inspections.
  • The Plant Integration lead will witness pre site turnover circuit verification by the EPC of all circuits and drawings.
  • The Integration site lead will support staffing and onboarding plans for the new facility or staffing additions as required for systems or equipment additions to existing facility.
  • The PIT site lead may participate in interview process for hiring necessary personnel to operate the new facility/equipment.
  • The Integration Site Lead is responsible for executing project integration protocols, procedures, and policies that will ensure successful operational readiness at the time of construction turnover to the accepting operations group.
  • The Integration Site Lead works closely with operating and or maintenance personnel that become the integration team for a specific project.
  • This team ensures that operator training, operating procedures, work management systems, preventive maintenance plans, equipment labelling & tagging, tooling, and spare parts needs are addressed and resolved by the time of commercial operation.
  • The integration team normally becomes a part of the operations group receiving the new project at the time of commercial operation.

  • The Integration Site Lead provides periodic reports to leadership and construction management ensuring a clear understanding of the current state of integration activities and progress during project activities. This is accomplished through periodic project status reports and by providing monthly updates of the PIT readiness tool.
  • Integration Site Lead is responsible for ensuring that team member activities and training are on track with the project schedule.
  • Coordinates with the PIT Database Administrator (DA) to ensure the Equipment database activities are on track with the project schedule.
  • Coordinates with the PIT Spare Parts Planner to ensure the parts planning process activities are on track with the project schedule. Reviews the recommended spare lists and stock justification forms to ensure that the sparing strategy meets the needs of the new facility while minimizing inventory increase.
  • Manages the approved PIT budget for the project and provides feedback to management on budget related issues.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years related experience
  • In Lieu of bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience; HS Diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • Bachelors degree in engineering, business management, project management
  • 3-5 years plant operations experience including some experience in major projects.
  • Power Plant operations management experience; project management and/or outage management experience; excellent written and verbal communications skills; managerial experience; some career exposure to construction activities; extensive travel.
  • Experience with Solar or Storage Maintenance and Operations.
  • Maintenance, and project management
  • Previous Experience as Plant Integration Site lead.
  • Proficient to demonstrated Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
  • Project related work experience; Risk Management, Project Leadership, Strong Collaboration, Oversight
  • Utility Business Unit Experience as determined by BU ranging from Regulated or Commercial energy services experience
  •  Construction Management knowledge
  • Proficient to Expert in project related Scheduling, Cost Controls

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $74.43 - $79.43 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
