Job Title: Project Coordinator
Type of Engagement: 1-year contract (Not open to 3rd party C2C consultants. Visa sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Hybrid Position located in Raleigh, NC  

Job Overview:

The Project Coordinator is on the staff of the Control Systems department within our client department. This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining client service offerings. This entry-level position involves assisting with troubleshooting, system enhancements, data analysis, and integration tasks, including incorporating new  resources and interfacing with other utility control systems, such as SCADA.

The candidate should have a good working knowledge of the power/energy industry. Knowledge in the areas of distribution operations, SCADA, distributed generation, and metering are desirable. A strong candidate will also have knowledge of various communication technologies, databases, query languages, and other applicable information technology software and hardware.  Experience supporting a project team is strongly desired.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a detailed technical knowledge of utility systems, including an understanding of the core design, database structure, all current and upcoming integrations and functionality, and use cases
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional teams to support client Distribution Operators (DO)
  • Manage/develop program management tools and reporting mechanisms to provide the member cooperatives and client internal customers appropriate and accurate information in support of DR and DER programs
  • Support the integration of Program Management initiatives from a DR/DER perspective (current and new technologies)
  • Support client project management, including (but not limited to) developing agendas for rotating meetings, tracking and reporting on actions and milestones, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for status updates, and facilitating/leading meetings
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, economics or other analytically intensive equivalent is required (sufficient work experience in the energy arena can supplement a degree of lessor analytical intensity).
  • A desire to learn, explore, and grow within the energy sector
  • Fundamental understanding of power systems, DER technologies, and the energy transition
  • Analytical mindset with a desire to problem solve
  • Self-directed and able to be responsible for a project or task from start to finish
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to develop presentations and reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • Power/energy industry experience in engineering, operations, DER/DR, SCADA operations or another related field.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
