Are you an experienced Project Manager I or II? If so, let’s talk!
 
Our client is actively seeking a talented Project Manager I or II to work with a team located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility for extension or to go permanent with our client.

This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days in office per week.


Job Responsibilities:

Types of Projects managed in terms:
  • Project Complexity
    • PM1 - easy repetitive work, minimal stakeholders, little risk, short duration
    • PM2 – challenging work, high number of stakeholders or important stakeholders, high risk, long duration
  • Volume of projects
    • PM1 – low volume OR high-volume low complexity projects
    • PM2 – Higher volume or few large scale/complexity projects
  • Duration of projects
    • PM1 – shorter durations
    • PM2 – long durations
  • Portfolio of projects
    • PM1 – Managing portfolio less than $20M
    • PM2 – Managing portfolio higher than $20M


Requirements:
 
  • 5 years minimum experience for PM2 of consistent project management, plus bachelor's degree
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel experience
    • Ability to create pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
      • Basic Excel skill sets of sorting, organizing, etc.
  • Critical thinking to be able to interpret complex Excel documents
    • Some beneficial attributes manager is looking for in a resume – PowerBI, SQL, or other advanced Excel skillsets
  • Ideal candidate has Agile PM experience in the utility industry
  • Utility experience to include power specifically (distribution, transmission, etc.)
  • Not looking for PM’s that have worked out in the field in Telecom for things like laying fiberoptics
  • Could be open to IT PM’s that have worked utilities


Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Masters - business (MBA), project management, or equivalent.
  • Utility Technical Certifications/Training; PMP or CAPM Certification; CMII/Construction Certifications; Professional Engineer License.
  • Working knowledge to proficiency in project related Scheduling/ Cost Controls. Experience in utility industry. Knowledge in construction management.
  • The Project Manager II may have relationships with individuals in various organizations ranging from individual contributors to Senior Department Leadership (i.e., individual contributors up to executive management).
  • Advanced Data management in tools such as Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient to demonstrated Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
  • Project related work experience; Risk Management, Project Leadership, Strong Collaboration, Oversight
  • Utility Business Unit Experience as determined by BU ranging from Regulated or Commercial energy services experience

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $55.17 - $70.86 per hour.

The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
