Our client is actively seeking a talented Survey Data Tech with strong ALTA experience preferably in Texas. Our client is also open to REMOTE candidates who have specific Renewable Energy OR Oil & Gas industry experience as a Survey Data Tech for candidates located in TX or CO. This is a fulltime permanent opportunity with our client.
Job Overview:
The Survey Technician will focus on execution of technical tasks necessary to create survey deliverables and provide in-depth knowledge to project teams for survey solutions. This role will work directly with the PLS, survey team, project managers, engineering, field crews, and in some instances clients, to achieve project goals. The Survey Technician will work with a variety of software and data to include conventional survey, GPS, point clouds from terrestrial and aerial LIDAR and photogrammetry datasets.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $72,800 - $93,600 per year.
The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.

Job Responsibilities:
- Review Processed Data for accuracy and correctness.
- Review Survey Field Packs.
- Draft and QA/QC Survey Plats and Legal Descriptions for PLS Review.
- Draft and QA/QC topographic survey deliverables.
- Draft and QA/QC ALTA deliverables.
- Experienced with Boundary, Prelims, Layout, Field staking for Oil & Gas / Pipeline
- Correctly read and draft previously recorded documents.
- Set up templates, Draft, and QA/QC Alignment Sheets.
- Assist Project Managers (PM’s), Senior Project Managers (Sr. PM’s), and Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) with various tasks, as necessary.
- Attend screen shares and client calls with PM’s, Sr. PM’s, and PLS’ to aide in planning and design - MUST be presentable, professional and confident interacting with clients
- Help finalize and package deliverables for submittal.
- Handoff accurate and complete data to all departments.
- Project tracking and coordination
- Complete drafting and data processing assignments within the time budgeted to do so.
- Create complete and comprehensive Survey Field Packs.
- Adhere to company layering conventions and drafting practices.
- Handoff accurate and complete data to all departments.
- Step up whenever necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform drafting assignments with minimal errors.
- Perform data processing with minimal errors.
- Create drafting templates for projects.
- Review infrastructure routes for accuracy and completeness, as well as correctness of existing crossings.
- Perform QA/QC on all drafting and data processing.
- Communicate with field crews and create calcs on demand to facilitate field work.
- Assist other team members when they have problems.
- Gain a thorough understanding of Survey/GIS relationship and processes unique to our client.
- 5+ years survey/drafting experience with strong ALTA specific experience
- Specific Renewable Energy or Oil & Gas industry experience
- Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D Skills
- Trimble Business Center Expert
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive Survey Capability/Background
- Creating Field Packs
- Lining out field crews
- Processing Data
- Fielding field crew calls
- Drafting
- Pipeline Routing
- Knowledge of the Industry
- Needs O&G midstream experience
- Routing Experience
- Must be able to perform routing functions with client design requirements in mind
- Attention to detail in routing is paramount
- In Depth understanding of coordinate systems.
- Public Land Survey System
- Aliquot Parts
- Metes and Bounds Descriptions
- Public Records Research
- Assist teammates with questions and problems as necessary.
- Help coordinate and organize larger drafting efforts.
- Night and Weekend work may be necessary to meet client deadlines.
- You will be exposed to different workflows, processes, and data sets to determine your aptitude for working with various products.
- MUST be able to clear Drug & Background checks as terms for employment
