Work Location: Onsite position located in Charlotte, NC
Candidates must reside in the Greater Charlotte, NC area.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Professional Engineer (NC and/or SC) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a project manager lead role.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil-3D, or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of, hydrology, and geotechnical principles.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Valid driver’s license

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for managing and executing civil engineering projects focused on Land Development from conception to completion. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Design:
- Lead the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including but not limited to roads, Utility supply systems, stormwater management, and site development.
- Prepare and oversee detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage and coordinate a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and other design professionals
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide detailed timelines and identify necessary permits required.
- Clearly identify major milestones and project critical path items related to civil engineering.
- Manage and mentor engineering staff.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Prepare and submit necessary permits and documentation to relevant authorities.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure the use of best practices and innovative techniques in project execution.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure high standards of work.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess construction progress and quality.
- Address Civil engineering related issues that arise during construction.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to all parties involved.
- Address client concerns and modify project plans as necessary.
- Provide accurate and prompt responses to team and clients
- Incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into all projects.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $100,000 - $150,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
