Job Title: Senior Scala Software Engineer
Type: Direct Hire, Permanent (Not open to 3^rd party candidates or C2C. Sponsorship is not available)
Work Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA 30326 (In office every Monday & Thursday)

Job Details
We are looking for a Senior Scala Software Engineer for our Atlanta-based client. This person needs to be skilled in Scala and located in the Metro Atlanta area.

This permanent, direct-hire position is hybrid, with the person working in the office every Monday and Thursday. Our client has a great culture and a great environment for people to thrive in. They've been acknowledged as one of the best places to work in Metro Atlanta.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement highly scalable, flexible Microservices.
Develop high-quality software, new features, as well as maintain the existing system.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that software solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and problems that arise during the development process.
Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

3-5+ years of development experience using Scala.
Experience with toolkits, frameworks, & libraries like Akka, Play Framework, Lift, Lagom, Scalatra, or Cats.
Experience developing scalable and flexible Microservices.
Experience with both SQL and NoSQL (like PostgreSQL) databases.
Understanding of best coding practices and testability of the code.
Experience with developing cloud native applications (preferably in AWS).
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and timelines, while remaining flexible in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field is highly preferred.

Compensation:
The Comp consists of a Base Salary ranging from $140,000 to $160,000 per year plus internal Stock Options. Also included is Full Medical / Dental / Vision, unlimited PTO, and 401k.

The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
