Our client is actively seeking a talented Sourcing Specialist to work a hybrid schedule in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with the possibility for extension or to go permanent with our client.
Job Overview:
Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting gas combined cycle Engineer/Procure/Construct (EPC) projects. Candidate is expected to help support these projects by offering their expertise in market research analysis, contacting strategies, negotiations, vendor management, risk mitigation and delivering cost savings to each project. This position will require the candidate to develop strategic sourcing solutions that further improve the business unit and lead to successful cost savings and on-time completion of projects.
Job Responsibilities:

- Leads and coordinates strategic sourcing (i.e. high value or risk) initiatives
- Undertaking market research analysis
- Developing contracting strategies
- Coordinate with internal customers to develop bid events
- Facilitate evaluations of proposals
- Negotiate terms and conditions / pricing to ensure completion of a contract
- Delivers on annual savings targets.
- Researches best practices successfully adopted by other industries and companies. Understand how to use benchmarking and/or other outside resources. Demonstrate knowledge of other industry practices.
- Develops and manages supplier relationships and programs.
- Builds and nurtures excellent client relationships, including executive level business interfaces. Provides guidance to Supply Chain leadership as well as cross functional sourcing initiatives. Develop strategies to align with Corporate and Supply Chain initiatives to include but not limited to safety, diversity and inclusion, savings and value.
- Maintains knowledge of commodities, sourcing of supply, services, diversity opportunities and market conditions that may impact future procurement.
Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Expert knowledge and understanding of EPC contracts, including experience managing an EPC event from bid event through contract execution
- Experience in natural gas or other major construction field
- Experience with Maximo or similar purchasing platform
- Strategic sourcing experience
- Experience preparing market solicitation documents and conducting competitive marker processes (i.e. RFP, bids, alliance negotiations)
- Delivers and measures targeted cost reductions
- Expert analytical, business acumen & customer service skills and understands market and supplier conditions
- Develops innovative sourcing opportunities and strategies
- Strong working knowledge of electric utility related customer operations
- Experience in managing high level and strategic supplier relationships
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and team building skills including interface with cross functional teams and executive management

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $33.94 - $38.94 per hour.
The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
