Job Title: Senior Cloud Ops Engineer
Type: Direct-hire, Full-time (Visa Sponsorship / Transfer is not available. No 3rd party C2C)
Work Location: Remote. But this person must be in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones

Must-haves:
  • Looking for a Cloud Engineer with good DevOps knowledge and experience. Note: we aren’t looking for a Developer
  • Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, managing, and maintaining scalable & secure cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake would be a plus
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CodePipeline), with a focus on automation and reliability.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible) in a SaaS environment.

Job Overview:
We are looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer for our Atlanta-based Financial SaaS client. This is a fully remote full-time, permanent position. Even though it is remote, the person must live in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones.

The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of the cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and ensuring high availability of mission-critical systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery and operation of our SaaS products, focusing on automation, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and ensure the seamless operation of the cloud environment
  • Oversee the deployment, operation, and scaling of SaaS applications across cloud platforms
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of SaaS applications by implementing best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident management
  • Manage cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) to support a multi-tenant SaaS environment
  • Design and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support rapid and reliable delivery of SaaS features and updates
  • Automate deployment processes to reduce time to market and minimize errors in production environments.
  • Integrate security practices into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure compliance with industry standards & regulations
  • Ensure SaaS applications meet security & compliance requirements, including data protection, access control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in capacity planning and forecasting for cloud resources.
  • Collaborate closely with software development, IT operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices
  • Develop and implement Cloud Operation strategies that align with the organization’s goals and enhance the efficiency and reliability of the development lifecycle
  • Advocate for the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and reliability of SaaS operations

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in computer science program preferred.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, managing, and maintaining scalable & secure cloud infrastructure platforms.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS is the preferred).
  • Experience with tools like Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CodePipeline), with a focus on automation and reliability.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Java) and experience with version control systems (BitBucket, CodeCommit).
  • Proven experience in cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Cloudwatch, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.).
  • Understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls).
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with multi-cloud SaaS environments
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures and microservices.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Engineer, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent
  • Experience with SaaS-specific compliance standards (i.e., SOC 2 or GDPR)

Pay:
The Comp consists of a Base Salary ranging from $150,000 to $170,000 per year, plus Bonus ($15k). 
The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
