Job Description

Job Title: Senior IT Business Analyst
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid position located in Pasadena, TX

Candidates must reside in the Greater Pasadena, TX area.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Proven equivalent multi-year experience in business analysis, process improvement, or related fields
  • 4+ years of experience in business process analysis or IT support functions with a focus on requirements gathering.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and documentation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with multiple business units.
  • Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tracking tools.

Big Bonus Points if you Have:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, IT consulting, or process improvement roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
  • Strong background in requirement gathering, process modeling, and business impact assessment.
  • Understanding of IT governance frameworks and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA)

Job Overview:

As a Senior IT Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging business needs with technology solutions by analyzing, defining, and optimizing business processes and systems. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, assess workflows, and collaborate with IT and project teams to develop solutions that improve operations.
Unlike a full-fledged project manager, your primary focus will be business process deep dives—understanding operational challenges and translating them into structured requirements. While you will manage some initiatives, the emphasis will be on requirement gathering, stakeholder collaboration, and business process improvements rather than full-scale project execution

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
  • Engage with business units to understand operational challenges and gather detailed requirements.
  • Document business workflows and use cases and define system requirements for IT and development teams.
  • Conduct business impact analysis and evaluate new technology solutions.
Process Optimization & Solution Design
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Work with IT teams and vendors to design, recommend, and test solutions.
  • Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) for business process enhancements.
Project & Initiative Support
  • Assist IT project managers in translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
  • Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing), working with end users to validate solutions.
  • Documentation & Training
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and business process documentation.
  • Conduct training sessions and support change management efforts for new IT implementations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of IT systems and business workflows.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Leverage Power BI and Excel to analyze business data and identify trends.
  • Provide business units with insights on system usage and performance.
Vendor & Solution Evaluations
  • Assess third-party solutions, compare functionalities, and provide recommendations for IT investments.
  • Collaborate with procurement and IT leadership on vendor selection

  • Agile Mindset – Experience working within Agile methodologies, user story writing, and iterative development.
  • Project Coordination Skills – Ability to manage small to medium initiatives while supporting larger IT projects.
  • Documentation & Process Mapping – Proficient in business process modeling (BPMN), system documentation, and workflow diagrams.
  • Change Management Awareness – Ability to support business users through process and system changes by facilitating communication, training, and adoption strategies.
Technology Stack:         
  • Business Applications: NetSuite (ERP), Field Service Management Applications, Microsoft 365
  • Requirements Management Tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence
  • Data Analysis: Power BI, SQL (basic queries)
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Visio(or similar) for process mapping
  • Integration & Workflow Tools: Power Automate, API-based solutions

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels
