Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Type: Direct Hire
Work Location: Hybrid position located in Columbus, OH.

Candidates must reside in the Greater Columbus, OH. area.

Required Skills & Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college program, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • PE or PE-tracked preferred plus (5) five or more years of related practical experience is required.
  • Experience with, and the ability to size HVAC equipment, duct and ancillary equipment, hydronic, utility piping systems, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and MicroStation preferred, as well as Microsoft Software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience working on Automotive, Manufacturing, and Commercial projects is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for intern

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects that include HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork static pressure calculations, and pump head calculations.
  • Performs detailed phases of engineering work on major projects or total engineering work on projects of smaller or moderate scope.
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard accepted methods.
  • May devise new approaches and solutions to problems encountered and communicates changes to the team.
  • May supervise and coordinate the work of less experienced engineers and designers and be responsible for checking a portion or all of the drawings completed on the project within the discipline.
  • May take part in client contact and business development activities.
  • Meets with client to define project scope, present project progress, and assure client satisfaction.
  • May write portions or all of the specifications and assist in or prepare total cost estimates.
  • Performs design work with REVIT.
  • Develops engineering concepts and presentations.
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines.
  • Keeps current on new design methods and ideas.
  • Travel required.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $130,000 - $135,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
