Job Overview:
This person is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. Organize field work, direct crew members, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses. Will work primarily in the central Virginia region (Norfolk/Charlottesville).

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $52,200 - $72,300 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.

Will work primarily in the central Virginia region (Norfolk/Charlottesville).
Required Skills & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years progressive experience in survey field operations with no less than 1 year as a survey crew chief
- Good technical skills: behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
- Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment).
- Some overnight travel may be required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record..

- Be responsible for the operation of field survey crews working primarily on projects in central Virginia.
- Organize field work with these major objectives:
- quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, meet regulatory requirements, public relations)

- meeting budgets
- providing responsive service to clients.
- Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses.
- Requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold.
